Book Adaptation Selection
For the second straight year the novel High Ground has made the London-based Page Turner Awards Long List in the Screenplay Category “Book Adaptation Needed.“ The Long List contains the top 42 Submissions still in consideration for the Awards. The novel was a Finalist in the same category last year., though the judging panels for each year are different.
Notice of making the 2023 Long List cut for the Page Turner Awards came just two days after the novel was named to the Top 100 list from more than 117,000 submissions to the Launch Pad Prose Competition in the United States.
The novel tells the story of an elderly eccentric woman who lives in terror as test flights of a powerful new weapon pass low over her crumbling coastal Maine home each night, hunting satellites over the North Atlantic.
Both Awards seek to identify and promote rising talent in the book and movie and TV industries.
